Job Description:
The candidate will work in continued development of the companies Unified Communications software solution, including support and bug fixes as well as the development of new features and applications based on requirements given by GTRIs customers. The candidate should have development experience focused in Java and web development and some administration experience. Experience with Red Hat Linux and appliance building is a plus. The candidate must have the ability to juggle multiple projects/requirements at once and to respond to high-demand internal clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop new applications and provide bug fixes for existing applications on the UC application set
  • Communicate and collaborate with UC engineering teams as well as GTRI sales force
  • Work with engineers and development manager to verify requirements and timelines
  • Give input into overall application architecture
  • Development support for all existing applications (Paging, Push to Talk, Text Alerting, Campus Alert Manager)

Required:
  • College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands on programming experience in core Java concepts
  • Minimun of 1 year experience in XML, SOAP, PHP, HTML, and CSS using Java as a backend.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Apache Tomcat and SQL
  • Ability to understand project requirements and complete projects on-time and under budget
  • Team player with willingness to take extra tasks when project team needs help
Preferred
  • 4-6 years development experience
  • Ability to implement projects with very little oversight
  • Ability to implement complex development projects
  • Mentoring other team members
  • Leading team discussions around project implementation
  • Subject Matter Expert in at least two application platforms
  • Development experience wth all primary applications (Media Stacks, Java, Cisco UC interworking)
  • Ability to create complex media integration packages
  • Deep experience with Web Services development

Education/level of Degrees
  • Bachelors degree in CIS with telecom background preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least one year of hands-on Information Technology experience (computer lab administration acceptable, help desk, etc.).
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline. Relevant work experience (3 years minimum) will be considered in lieu of a degree.

The ability to interpret product requirements, develop test procedures, and understand functional, performance, load, installation, and usability testing concepts are key. In addition, the position must be able to perform system administration of the entire QA test environment.
