Color Scientist at Boulder

Job Description

Randstad Technologies is currently seeking a Color Science Engineer for our valued client in Boulder, CO. This is a full-time/direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities include:

Development, implementation, and testing of ICC profiles and calibrations.

Technical analysis of requirements and delivery of functional specifications.

Coordination between teams to implement and test advanced color management functions.

Keeping up to date with developments in color science through technical journals, conferences and meetings.

Pre-sales support that includes evaluating print samples and delivering color management education.

Post-sales support to resolve technical issues in the field.

In addition to these core responsibilities there are opportunities for growth and expanded scope. Opportunities include:

The ability to participate in R&D of new image processing algorithms to improve future products.

Collaborating with peer imaging scientists in the development of halftones and image quality enhancement algorithms.

Modeling of image quality and ink/paper interactions.

Creation of test charts.

Basic Skills:

Demonstrated project experience in color imaging science

Experience or familiarity with ICC profile generation

Strong knowledge in color theory and color management workflow

Practical knowledge in color and image quality evaluation

3 years experience in color science / imaging science

3 years advanced mathematical modeling

5 years Matlab programming

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Competencies: verbal and written communication, leadership, teaming, self-starter

Preferred Skills:

Background in halftone development

Background in print quality algorithms for production printers

Education / Certifications:
Emphasis: M.S. Color Science, Imaging Science, Mathematics.
Minor Focus: Computer Science
