The Maintenance Manager is a hands on position that coordinates the efforts of the maintenance team to install, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and make necessary repairs to the facilities. Supervises the performance of advanced preventative maintenance on all machinery, facility support equipment, and building. Maintains a clean and safe work area. Initiates and installs improvement projects. Performs basic failure root cause investigation. Modifies PLC & HMI Programming. Serves as liaison for external maintenance vendors. Manages maintenance spare parts inventory. Other duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assigns tasks to maintenance team members, balancing immediate equipment maintenance needs with preventative maintenance activities.

Advanced trouble shooting and project management skills.

Electrical repair, rebuild, and troubleshooting, including PLC programming.

Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements for fabrication, assembly and testing.

Receive and communicate written and verbal commands.

Manages overall preventative maintenance program, including data collection, analysis, goal setting, and corrective actions.

Mechanical repair and troubleshooting.

Hydraulic and pneumatic repair and troubleshooting.

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Manage maintenance spares inventory.

Liaise with appropriate vendors for facility support.

Job Requirements

Advanced mechanical, welding and cutting skills

Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
Good problem solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.

Advanced workbench and computer skills.

Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motor drives, PLC and SLC controllers and motor control circuits.

Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.

Advanced knowledge of Preventative Maintenance concepts.

Knowledge of appropriate methods for directing and motivating efforts of team members.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Work in an industrial environment including exposure to temperature extremes, overhead work, work at heights, and in chemical process operations.

Requires standing for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Advanced problem solving skills are required.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

As specified for specific operations, at a minimum steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, arc flash protective garments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Two year associates degree in electrical / mechanical maintenance, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a multi-craft maintenance manager in an industrial environment. Experience in printed circuit board facility preferred.

Must be eligible to work on defense and satellite programs subject to ITAR Regulations. Therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card).
