Job Description

Cbeyond is searching for a Senior Account Executive with 3-10 years of business-to-business sales experience in Telecom, Cloud and Managed Services, Computer Hardware, Data Storage, and Software industries. We are seeking a sales professional that has successfully prospected, developed and maintained accounts in a B2B consultative selling environment. This position will focus on Cbeyonds highest valued prequalified Cloud Ready buildings within our High Bandwidth Fiber /EFM network Denver footprint.

  • Managing a portfolio of our largest existing clients with a focus on a suite of cloud based applications and services which have received honors such as the Microsoft Hosting and HyperV Partner of the Year, and our next generation voice and data services.
  • Business development from a module of specific targeted prospects which consist of prequalified Cloud Ready buildings within our Fiber /EFM network foot print.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with building property managers

Cbeyond services to mid-enterprise (SMB) customers. We provide our customers such products as; Data Center Colocation and Cloud Services, Managed Services, Disaster Recover, Business Continuity, MPLS, VoIP (Local and Long Distance), High Bandwidth Broadband Internet (Fiber Optics, Metro Ethernet EFM, T1), Mobile Communications, Hosting, Hosted Microsoft Exchange, Firewall, Network Security, VPN, Web Conferencing, Cloud Phone System, PBX, Virtual Receptionist, Voice-only PRI, Microsoft SQL Server.

Duties include:

  • Represent Cbeyonds entire product portfolio with special focus on next generation data products.
  • Constantly maintaining a solid understanding of all the major product groups and applications, along with adapting as Cbeyond enhances their portfolio.
  • Thorough knowledge of telecommunication products and services (such as Cloud, VOIP, MPLS, and Metro Ethernet), as well as how to overcome objections with knowledge of competitor platforms/costs.
  • Create, manage and operate a funnel of leads and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships that will bring in sales over an expanded sales cycle with C-suite level executives.
  • Coordinate with Sales Engineering and other sales resources to complete product configurations and ensure successful installation of Cbeyond products.
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, as well as opportunities that effect Cbeyond business and developing an effective strategic plan to overcome these with viable solutions.
  • Manage the sales cycle, identifies prospects and close new business, with the primary goal of increasing Cbeyond’s revenue and market share.
  • Work with key prospects and clients to learn about their business challenges and initiatives with the goal of converting these to new Cbeyond customers. Follow up on sales leads on a timely basis by delegating to your sales team.

Achieve Revenue Goals:

  • Achieve targeted sales numbers, budget forecast accurately and develop a sales projection model that delivers acceptable sales quotas.
  • Prepare, analyzes, and maintain records of individual sales goals. Ensure accurate forecasts of annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue and unit numbers through analysis of the data.

Administration:

  • Follow the sales methodology and process for qualifying and closing accounts.
  • Strategically manage and build a client database that blends with our sales technology.
  • Build and establish a targeted prospect list for future business (using client profiling, vertical market data analysis and other techniques).
  • Provide sales updates and reports on a regular basis to the Cbeyond senior management team.

Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements


  • Minimum of 3 years of high tech sales experience selling IT services or telecommunication.
  • Experience selling Hosted / SaaS / Microsoft Packages
  • Strong negotiator with the ability Track record of constantly progressing within a sales organization and comfortable managing a 90/120 day sales process/funnel
  • Ability to persuade others and comfortable with talking technology with a CIO/CTO, as well as cost with a CFO/CEO.
  • Previous “prospect generation" experience with either a new business in the market place or working in an expanding business market.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Preferred
  • Excellent communicator (both written and oral) and excellent presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working with small business executive (C-suite experience is a must)
  • Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed sales goals / quota on a regular basis.
  • High level of general business knowledge/business savvy.
  • Ability to work independently and think on one’s feet on a daily basis. Enjoy to control one’s results.
  • Creative and innovative with an ability to think and solve problems strategically.
  • Successfully closed large deals in a complex selling environment preferably in the IT Solutions or Telecommunications space
  • Experience establishing long-term relationships with C-level executives.
  • Experience developing complex proposals or RFP responses
  • Positive attitude; win-win mentality.
