Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Apex is a Raytheon program with satellite command and control software and hardware, as well as flight dynamics software. Apex will be supporting everything from new development to maintenance of existing software, as well as operational support.

Apex is seeking a software engineer to join their team. The candidate must have experience and knowledge with software engineering using object oriented methodologies.

Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

• Reviewing requirements with System Engineering
  
• Software design activities and creating/maintaining artificats
  
• Code and thorough unit test of written software
  
• Support test integration
  
• Analysis, assessment, and workoff of discrepancy reports

Required skills:

• Minimum2 years working experience in object-oriented software design and development using C++ or Java

o Experience with the entire software lifecycle (prelim design through maintenance phases)

o 1 year experience with Linux/Unix OS development

o Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

o No clearance required, however an ability to obtain a TS/SCI SSBI level clearance is required.

Desired Skills:

• Active TS/SCI SSBI level clearance highly desirable

Prior experience on large programs

Experience with scripting, i.e PERL, SH, TCSH

Experience with working with Linux/Unix OS development

Experience with COTS Integration

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

Required Education (including Major):

o Bachelor of Science, BS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent degree.

Required Education(including Major):

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another engineering degree that provides a computer science education.
