Job Description
Position Title: Outside Sales
Reports To: Sales Manager
Work Location: Denver, CO
Position Summary: Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a customer base through direct sales initiatives and developing and maintaining positive relationships.
Primary Duties:
Cold-calling on new potential clients
Develop and maintain customer relationships with accounts.
Ability to apply creativity to solve problems.
Develop, maintain and share excellent product knowledge.
Demonstrate new products, enter quotations
Call on their customer base at MINIMUM of every three months
Review all accounts annually, attend training, and work with factory representatives regularly.
Strive to continually increase/maintain profit levels
Sell products to new accounts.
Develop and coordinate target accounts for branch.
Ensure that the highest level of customer service and ethics are followed.
Address and resolve all customer requests, complaints and objections with a positive and creative approach.
Provide technical resources for others in the organization.
Implement and follow up on sales directive from management.
Maintain accurate and legible customer and catalog files when appropriate.
Obtain and share new product knowledge.
Coordinate efforts with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
Basic Requirements:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Bachelors degree and/or at least 2 years sales experience, preferably in the hose industry.
Basic fluid connector product knowledge.
Detail oriented with organizational skills.
Must be able to understand and calculate gross profit/gross margin, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. The ability to calculate averages and other functions preferred.
Must possess basic computer skills including use of Word, Outlook and Excel.
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Work environment includes a wide variety of situations including: office, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential customers. This position requires extensive travel by automobile and/or airplane.
