Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a learning development project, including design, development and deployment. This individual is accountable for the on-time and on-budget delivery of a single project or group of projects ranging from $100k to $1 million each in value. This position requires instructional design experience and a demonstrated knowledge of instructor-led, virtual classroom, and web-based delivery methods. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing budgets. This individual will team with external and internal clients to develop and integrate learning solutions and provide advisory services.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute project work plan according to project scope, deadlines, client needs and resource staffing.
Accountable for design, development, delivery, and quality of all project deliverables.
Manage daily project team activities including progress, customer interactions, issue resolution and issue escalation.
Manage project budget, identify and mitigate project risk.
Manage the customer relationship, including status meetings, gathering customer requests, maintaining customer satisfaction, billing preparation, and status reporting.
Manage customers expectations and establishes the project teams expectations by defining scope and role responsibilities.
Identifies innovative learning solutions for customer learning needs.
Develop presentations, lead meetings, facilitate design sessions, and advise customers on all aspects of learning solution design and development.
Manage project infrastructure, which may include work environment, technology and tools, training, and morale.
Manage, coach, train, and evaluate teams consisting of 4 to 15 people. (Learning Consultants, Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, Developers, and contractors) Provide effective and timely feedback on performance.
Manages the scope change process.
Makes project staffing decisions based on project priorities, resource skill set, availability, and professional development opportunities.
Identify, define, and escalate add-on work by establishing customer relationships, gathering customers intelligence, and recommending innovative solutions resulting in a business value proposition.
Completes work simultaneously with 1 to 3 customer project sponsors.
Teams with customers to ensure consistent and seamless project delivery.
Maintains a current knowledge of instructional design principles and theories.
Articulate the basic concepts, terms and theory of instructional design to customers and project teams.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Masters degree preferred but not required.
PMI certification preferred but not required.
Four or more years of project management experience. Managing teams in all phases of learning solution design and development.
Four or more years of experience in instructional design and course development.
Proven record of providing superior customer service to individuals and organizations.
Demonstrated ability to develop team members through coaching and mentoring.
Demonstrated leadership and consulting abilities.
