Research and identify new government grant opportunities to fund Resident Services and programming. Coordinate and manage all related government grant activities including application preparation and renewal processes, report preparation, reimbursement requests, maintenance of accounting records, and follow-up.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Research government and related public funding opportunities and requests for proposal (RFPs) to develop a pipeline of current and prospective funding opportunities.
2. Monitor and track federal, state and local grant opportunities, prepare summary funding analysis with recommendations for distribution to department leaders and regional offices.
2.Write proposals, letters of interest/inquiry, requests for qualifications, concept papers, and related materials for application submission.
3.Manage collaborative grant application submissions with the regional offices to implement and maintain a collaborative, organization-wide approach to increasing government grant revenue.
4.Track grant application/proposal submissions and report schedules in Raisers Edge and provide regular reports on grants submitted, responses received and financial awards
5.Manage progress on government grant awards and pass through grants to regional offices and programs, when appropriate; coordinate and generate grants reports and requests for reimbursement to funders according to schedule
6.Provide overall leadership and technical assistance for all aspects related to government grants management and compliance;
7.Ensure that the latest policies, procedures, tools, and training are being implemented in regard to government grants management and compliance.
8.Participate in appropriate internal committees and working groups to assure effective implementation of government grants.
9.Work with Marketing and Communications to provide input for all written marketing and public relations materials (including Annual Report, quarterly newsletters).
10.Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience in grant writing and contract administration for government or quasi-governmental grant proposals or applications. Comprehensive knowledge of government grant application and reporting processes. Knowledge of basic accounting functions, accounts analysis and financial report preparation. Experience working in affordable housing service delivery programs preferred.
Abilities:
Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to government sources, including federal, state, county and city entities.
Conduct research on funding opportunities and alignment with programming for Resident Services.
Comply with all reporting requirements as required by the funding source.
Understand resident service delivery approach, best practices, measurement and data management systems.
Maintain current records in database (Raisers Edge) and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
Work with Marketing and Communications to provide input for all written marketing and public relations materials (including Annual Report, quarterly newsletters).
Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
Collaborate with Internalpartners. i.e. Philanthropy staff to share resources and best practice learnings.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
