Accounting Clerk - Treasury Department at Englewood

Job Description

Classification: Accounting Clerk

Compensation: $32,000.00 to $38,000.00 per year

Description:Supports corporate objectives by utilizing a detailed knowledge of accounting and funding procedures. Responsible for maintaining cash logs for all client fund and corporate accounts, initiating all ACH transactions, disposition and routing of checks, utilizing spreadsheet programs to maintain data, working with various banks, working with the check/EOB vendor to process check releases and to intercept checks and EOB. Provides administrative support as needed. Scope / Key Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with Accounting and Funding personnel, associates in other CNIC departments, and contacts outside the company to perform basic accounting, treasury and funding functions on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain Excel cash logs for client fund accounts and corporate accounts. Monitor corporate cash balances and complete intra-bank transfers. Responsible for disposition and routing of checks. Initiate all ACH transactions. Maintain relationships with outside banks. Complete positive pay submissions and exception processing. Resolve non-routine questions/issues related to check runs/releases. May contact internal and external customers. Use a professional demeanor and tact to explain detailed information. Utilize spreadsheet programs to input, update and maintain data. Generate reports as needed. Utilize individual thought to organize and examine data to resolve problems. Use judgment to determine a course of action. Precedents and assistance are available as resources. Maintain files and archive as needed. Back up the Funding Specialist as needed. Complete release of check runs on hold with the EOB vendor as needed. Consistent attendance and reliability are considered a key requirement of work performance. Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time. Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED preferred, or must have equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities required to effectively perform the essential functions of the job. Required Experience:Requires 3 years related experience, a high degree of accuracy, and strong attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and basic knowledge of standard accounting procedures and principles required. Mobility necessary to perform a variety of tasks that involve standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending and twisting, occasionally climbing stairs or using an elevator, possibly reaching chest high and overhead for materials. Possess faculties, mobility and ability necessary to access research and interpret information from a variety of media (e.g., computer screen, projected images, printed material) and individuals.
