CNC Machinist - Omaha at Denver

Job Description

Oasis is recruiting an experienced machinist for an opening with a well-known Omaha company.  This position is not an entry level opening and will be competitively compensated.  Candidates must have shift flexibility as well as an exceptional work history.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

Educational Requirements

Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or minimum of four years of job shop related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience or certification of completion of a Certified Apprenticeship Program.

Must have strong work history.

Must pass background and drug screens.

Job Requirements

Experience in Machine operation and blueprint reading required

Knowledge of Machinists handbook strongly preferred

Possession of certain handtools required
