Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Develop and manage Integrated Master Program Schedules that are fully resource loaded. Include major milestones, Go Lives dates, cross project dependencies, and external program dependencies. Identify project and program level critical path and potential resource constraints.
  • Develop and apply a program level earned value management system (EVMS) that is consistent with EPMO EVMS standards and tool use.
  • Support program and project reviews by providing schedule and earned value managements status and issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and managing all aspects of an Integrated Master Program and component project schedules.
  • Assure all project schedules meet and adhere to EPMO standards and guidelines for schedule development relative to dependencies, successors, predecessors, task duration, resource assignment and similar attributes.
  • Track schedule baselines for all supported programs and projects.
  • Apply an earned value management system (EVMS) that track current cost and schedule metrics and makes variance projections to the end of the fiscal year and end of the project. EVMS must be consistent with EPMO process and tool standards.
  • Define and manage a cross project (program wide) critical path which provides visibility into programs key tasks, milestones, and interfaces. Identify impact of project schedule changes on program critical path. Monitor detailed short term (

    Education:

    PMI PMP and Scheduling certification preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in business administration or equivalent preferred. May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:

3-8 years of total project management experience required. 3 years experience managing project schedules 3 years experience in developing/applying earned value management systems 3 years experience in managing projects tasks, schedules, and budgets Healthcare and/or IT industry experience is preferred. Experience with project management applications (e.g., Microsoft Project Pro/Server, Clarity, Primavera) and ERP system experience preferred. Experience in at least one project management methodology is required. Knowledge of project management best practices and frameworks such as PMIs Body of Knowledge or System Development Lifecycle is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively to direct, influence and motivate moderate size group of functional mid management or project team; maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills and process focus required. Additional Responsibilities:

Works with program and project managers providing updates, receiving guidance and communicating project scheduling and EVMS needs. Consults with key stakeholders regarding business needs, requirements, and scope as they affect program master scheduling. Works with IT and business areas to address change leadership barriers and issues that affect implementation of scheduling and EVMS standards. Support the process excellence and portfolio teams in defining and evolving EPMO scheduling and earned value management standards, processes, and tools. Obtain program manager/director and governance structure acceptance/sign-off of completed scheduling and EVMS deliverables, products, or services.
