Job Description

The Operations Manager is the key position for success of an office.

 

The Operations Manager is also a key player in winning and executing work, and ensuring the office staff are directed and led for success.

 

The Operations Manager is the local discipline lead for project and program management activities. Specific responsibilities are dependent on the local office staffing, project load, and market conditions.

 

The company is a leading provider of consulting, engineering, and technical services worldwide.

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

•  Provide leadership and a vision for the office by being the lead decision maker.

•  Mentor PMs and direct reports.

•  Ensure proper execution of the projects in the office, including project reviews, financial performance and compliance with company procedures.

•  In conjunction with the marketing, sales and business development team, develop and execute business plans to win work in the local market and support national business development efforts.

•  Help identify potential new employees for recruiting to support the work in the office and assist in the development of specific retention plans for the staff.

•  Assist the science, engineering, IT, and project support services departments in managing their work load and staff.

•  Manage office overhead and business development budgets.

•  Understand and lead the implementation of the company’s ESQ philosophy.

•  Participate in inter-company teams to win and execute work, specifically with other corporate entities in the local region.

•  Provide direct oversight and supervision of the office administrative staff and Seller-Doers.

•  Identify and select Project Managers to manage projects booked in the local office.

•  Monitor cash flow in the office by ensuring timely invoicing and tracking AP.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.

• Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience.

• Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, oral and written.

• Be highly organized, detail oriented with a strong focus on leadership, quality and client services.
