Fleet Maintenance Mechanic at Greeley

Job Description

Meadow Gold Dairy has been a major employer in the community since 1937.We are a fluid milk processing plant with regional distribution.We are currently accepting applicatins for a diesel mechanic for our Fleet Maintenance Department.

The Fleet Mechanic (Garage) is responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs of commercial fleet- bobtails, tractors, trailers and refrigeration units (Thermo-king and Carrier transport refrigeration units). Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems according to DOT requirements and manufacturers recommendations and specifications. General truck and trailer repairs (major and minor) including but not limited to brakes, transmission, engine, suspension, steering, tire replacement, lights, hoses, belts, batteries, electronic engine controls, electrical systems and refrigeration units. Maintain a clean, safe work environment. Perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Job Requirements

• CDL Class A preferred (MUST obtainwithin 3 months of hire)
• Good driving record (No DUI/DWI within last 7 years).
• 2 to 5 years previous experience in heavy fleet maintenance
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic software on electronic engine and transmission controls
• Experience with computerized diagnostics and repair order system
• Excellent communication skills- written and verbal
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Perform simple math calculations
• Order parts as necessary
• Shuttle vehicles as necessary
• Maintain a clean work area
• Observe all Federal, state and company rules and regulations.
• Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain excellent attendance
• Ability to perform essential functions and responsibilities of job.
• Ability to maneuver in/around/under equipment
• Perform other duties as directed by management and supervision
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, work in extreme temperature conditions, require physical exertion, lift heavy objects, etc.
