Manager, SAP Master Data at Broomfield

Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for the strategic planning required to research, develop, implement and maintain the master data used within SAP that coordinates and controls all sales, accounting, and manufacturing data in the core SAP ERP business platform at WhiteWave Foods.

Key responsibilities include extending data quality practices and controls throughout the business solution environment. Candidates must be customer-focused and have demonstrated strong teamwork, communication, problem solving, and organizational/planning skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows corporate guidelines for analysis, design, user liaison interfacing, specification, quality assurance, implementation practice, data governance and SOX compliance. Adheres to corporate quality standards, policies, and procedures
  • Accountable for the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of both the SAP master data system and master data personnel, and the ongoing accuracy and integrity of the system data
  • Leads and coordinates with the various external owners of master data to manage the process of introducing master data into the SAP system in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Identifies costs, benefits, risks, and alternatives in proposed system designs and their impact on SAP master data requirements
  • Seeks out opportunities for continuous process improvement, to include benchmarking other companies, user groups, and software tools to improve speed & accuracy of master data processes
  • Researches and implements strategic changes to the master data system structure to enhance efficiencies and ensure flexibility to meet future business needs
  • Defines tools necessary to expedite data input, as well as auditing to insure accuracy
  • Maintains compliance with Corporate Audit and SOX compliance standards
  • Develops and maintains Enterprise Data Governance standards. Educates the organization on process and compliance to the standards
  • Responsible for the standardization and consistency of the data going into the SAP system and the ongoing audit results.
  • Drives the coordination of efforts among the various departmental data owners to deliver their data in a timely fashion to the Master Data team
  • Manages and plans the Master Data activities associated with Enterprise projects
  • Manages all aspects of GDSN Global Data Synchronization efforts and UPC/GTIN allocation
  • Performs other related duties as may be required

Job Requirements

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires 5+ years of experience in an SAP ERP environment including master data design, control, and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Experience managing master data in at least 2 of the following is required (FICO, SD, MM and PP) and knowledge of GDSN Global Data Synchronization, 3+ years management experience required.
  • In-depth business experience in manufacturing/distribution, preferably with an industry leading CPG company.
  • Specific SAP Master Data skills and knowledge of all relevant SAP Master Data objects to include Material Master, Customer Master, Vendor Master, Bills Of Material, etc. Bachelors Degree in computer science or business related major. APICS certification is a plus.
  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP configuration and the ERP core product.
  • Strong SAP master data knowledge / experience in Finance, Sales and Distribution, Inventory Management, Procurement, Production Planning, Discrete Manufacturing, Sub-Contract Purchasing, etc. Demonstrated subject matter expertise in master data management best practices and the GDSN.
  • High degree of initiative and ownership, as well as a proven history of delivering results while working with several different departments in a fast-paced environment.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop employees.
  • Capable of receiving complex business applications projects; determining the most appropriate method of achieving the necessary results; and checking the resulting system changes or modifications.
  • Ability to create and provide better business practices and introduce new technology to the company staff.
  • Able to troubleshoot and research problems independently as well as part of a functional team.
  • Must be creative, comfortable learning and using new technologies, able to work on multiple projects at one time in a fast-paced team environment.
