Project Engineer at Denver

Job Description

SUMMARY

System One is currently seeking a Project Engineer for a successful and growing Engineering, Procurment and Construction firm in Denver, CO. This is a direct hire position, with a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.  All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Project Engineer is resposible for working with the Project Manager and Project Teams managing gas pipeline projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.  They will assist different teams of professionals in the execution of this work depending on the stage of the projects.  They will work closely and interactively with clients icluding reporting progress and making forecasts for cost and schedule.  The Project Engineers are the liason between the Design Teams located off site and the client to ensure that work is being done correctly and in accordance with the clients requirements.  They will also be the ones to answer question and solve problems specific to design.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop specifications and drawings for assigned projects including design calculations.
  • Develop project objectives, estimates and responsibilities by reviewing client requirements, project proposals and plans, and conferring with the Program Director, Project Manager and client representatives.
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Work with Project Manager and other team members in developing a comprehensive workflow process, tasks, and project assignments.
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and status reports. Plan and schedule changes; recommending actions to ensure project stays on-time and on-budget while meeting client specifications.
  • Ensure project compliance with appropriate government regulations, safety rules, and company and client policies.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss/resolve technical issues with internal staff and clients.
  • Assist the Program Manager and Project Manager with project planning, scheduling, and manpower estimates.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required.
  • This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Associate Engineer or Project Engineer with an oil/gas industry company
  • Experience with Gas Pipeline projects.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients.
  • Ability to read and interpret communication styles of team members and clients who come from both technical and non-technical disciplines.
