Support Manager and external reporting groups in developing derivative related financial statement disclosures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Understanding of derivative transactions and related accounting treatment as dictated by generally accepted accounting principlesPerform settlement process for derivative transactions in QLM system (derivatives and commissions) approve settlements process payments process invoices research settlement variances as neededPrepare and upload month end journal entries (in PeopleSoft) for all derivative transactionsPrepare monthly Management Reports for all derivative activityMonthly account reconciliationsEstablish and maintain effective communications and working relations with customers, revenue accountants, marketers, and other DCP personnelAssist with Audits (Internal, D&T, SOX, et al)Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement footnote disclosuresCommunication and coordination with Front Office, Middle Office, Corporate Accounting and Tax personnel, as neededAssists with special projects of greater complexity as requested by managementBasic Qualifications:Degreed individuals with a bachelors degree or an advanced degree in finance, accounting, business administration5+ years related accounting experience as a degreed professionalDesired Qualifications:Knowledge of derivative trading products including, commodities, fixed income, and foreign exchange a plusStrong knowledge of GAAP, accounting methods and financial statement presentationStrong computer application skills and ability to learn new system as neededStrong planning and organizational skillsStrong accounting, analytical, problem solving and decision making skillsEffective communication, interpersonal and leadership skillsCPA
