Skid Packager at Brighton

Job Description

General Purpose:Packages cut-to-length and/or slit material orders onto skids to be sent to customers.Essential Areas of Responsibility:

• Line and pad skids using hand tools
• Examine and inspect skids in order to ensure that packing specifications are met
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools
• Obtain, move and sort products, materials, containers and orders
• Remove completed or defective products or materials
• Clean containers, material, supplies or work areas
• Review job specifications to determine packaging requirements
• Operate overhead crane
• Operate forklift
• Operate bander
• Complete paperwork
• Measure dimensions of work piece using tape, gauge, template, ruler and square
• Assists level line and or slitter operator as needed

Job Requirements

Experience:Prefer 1 years experience in warehouse settingSkills and Abilities:

• Ability to read and understand sales orders for product specifications needed by the customer
• Effective verbal and written communication skills (including but not limited to verification of sales orders) using the knowledge structure and content of the English language
• Product knowledge preferred
• Math skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work as both a part of a team and as an individual
• Ability to arrange things or actions in order or pattern according to specific rules or set of rules

Educational Requirements High School diploma or equivalent preferred
