Job Description
Johns Manvilles Corporate Accounting and Reporting department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant (Entry Level). The purpose of this position will be to perform general accounting, reporting and analysis; and provide business and staff group support. This position requires the ability to understand multiple processes and analyze large volumes of detailed transactions in a global manufacturing environment. The individual must have the interpersonal skills to complete projects on time in coordination with multiple departments. This individual must also have the skills necessary to interact with various levels of management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze and reconcile numerous balance sheet accounts
Prepare benefit plan financial statements and coordinate audit activities to complete annual DOL/ERISA filings
Prepare journal entries as required in a complex accounting environment
Provide support during month-end close and reporting
Provide support and coordinate additional year-end closing and reporting requirements
Perform special projects as required
Demonstrate and ensure a strong customer service commitment within the organization
Provide on-going support for end users in SAP

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
0-3 years experience
Positive and enthusiastic attitude
Strong Excel skills
Experience with other business applications including Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
Experience with mainframe accounting applications
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills
Proven analytical skills
Strong decision-making and problem resolution skills
Knowledge of: GAAP/Cash Flow/Financial Reporting/Sarbanes-Oxley
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS: SAP experience Multi-currency accounting experience Manufacturing accounting experience in a large multi-national environment Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous process improvement methodology certification Knowledge of IFRS CPA
