Job Description

JOB SUMMARY- Equipment Operations Engineer III-Electrical Engineer Focus

Work requires originality and judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Duties are assigned to provide experience and familiarization with engineering methods, independent thinking, and company practices and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partners with others across the organization to ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and ISO requirements.
  • Writes and executes Engineering Change Orders required for assigned product lines.
  • Provides support to associates in the field as well as other internal departments.
  • Troubleshoots device and component level failures on the manufacturing floor and in the field.
  • Communicates with component suppliers to resolve quality and manufacturing problems.
  • Dispositions non-conforming material and completes corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partners with the Global Product Quality organization in support of the Quality Management System.
  • Provides training support to production areas for significant engineering changes.
  • Ability to execute several projects at once with some supervision.
  • Develops and executes test plans for replacement component verification of existing products.
  • Designs test fixtures and assembly aids
  • Solves design and manufacturing problems on existing product lines.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates inquisitive approaches to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Shows a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work direction responsibility may include technicians and junior engineers.
  • May work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferred.

Experience

  • Strongly prefer a BS in a related Engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering highly desired.)
  • Requires demonstrated technical skills in support of on-going manufacturing operations.
  • Requires a minimum of 4-10 years applicable engineering experience
  • Requires an understanding of and adherence to FDA regulations. Understands and implements FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Works cooperatively and effectively in a team environment or across teams to achieve.

Skills

  • Requires very strong communication skills both verbal and written. Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio. Familiar in EDA software such as P-CAD, Altium Designer or equivalent is desired.
  • Familiar with RoHS compliance.
  • Familiar with worst case tolerance analysis (such as AC timing, AC/DC thermal)
  • Requires demonstrated ability to read and analyze schematics for analog and digital circuits. .
  • Requires demonstrated ability to use tools, such as a DVM, spectrum analyzer and an oscilloscope.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

General Labor Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, hand/finger dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, or transporting up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
