Intern - Software Engineering at Colorado Springs

Job Description

Scitor Corporation is seeking a summer interns to develop hands-on experience in the field of Software Engineering. The successful candidate willdevelop software for a web-based Space Mission processing system. The system architecture employs Java Enterprise Edition infrastructure, High Performance Computing (HPC) distributed processing system, and vendor agnostic data access layer. Interns will be paired with a Scitor Mentor for the duration of the internship program, collaborating with engineers, analysts and program managers in support of our Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customers. The Summer Intern program is a full time 12-week program beginning in May 2014. At the conclusion of the program, interns will showcase their summer project work with presentations to senior leadership at Scitors annual Intern Conference.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates should be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate level degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, software engineering, or other related technical field. Undergraduate students must have completed a minimum of 2-3 years of undergraduate coursework. A GPA of 3.0 or greater is required.
• Experience with object oriented programming languages; data structures and/or object oriented design patterns is required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and hold a security clearance.

• Strong commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Web application development experience to include coding of web pages with Javascript, HTML, and Java web application frameworks such as Struts is advantageous.
• Familiarity with XML, C/C++, FORTRAN, Groovy languages, relational databases and experience developing automated test drivers using JUnit is beneficial.
• Strong mathematics skills and knowledge of space orbital mechanics is also beneficial.
