Divisional Description:

Transamericas Individual Savings & Retirement (IS&R) engages in the creation, distribution and servicing of mutual funds and variable and fixed annuities. These innovative solutions help consumers address their accumulation, protection and retirement income needs. Our products are distributed through banks, wirehouses, broker/dealers and institutional clients. IS&R is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Denver, Colorado; and St. Petersburg, Florida.

Responsibilities:

Working directly with distribution channels, reviews and approves advertising, training and sales materials (“advertising") created by the divisions distribution channels for use with the field force as well as the public. Advertising may be required to be filed with securities regulator(s) and/or state insurance departments.

 

  • · Promptly reviews and approves material submitted to Advertising Compliance, of a difficult, complex nature.
  • · Works directly with respective marketing distribution channels to develop product brochures and residual materials.
  • · Participates in the development and management of controls, systems, procedures, files, and records as required by FINRA, state insurance departments, AEGON USA and Law Department policy and procedures.
  • · Participates in the development and management of the computer information systems support advertising compliance for AEGON’s corporate information system (Advertising.Net) and the Law Department’s automated tracking and record keeping system.
  • · Analyzes, interprets and applies state and federal advertising regulations.
  • · Prepares for and participates in all regulatory and corporate audits for Advertising Compliance. Performs special projects as assigned by the Director.Effectively applies fundamental concepts; works on assignments of moderate scope and complexity, with limited oversight; makes recommendations for changes to procedures, and performs varied work, requiring some originality or ingenuity.
 Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum 2-4 years experience reviewing advertising. If position requires review of securities related material, FINRA Series 7 and 24 licenses; or Series 6 and 26 licenses. Licenses not required for Compliance relating to fixed insurance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Mutual Fund experience preferred.Legal research and writing skills. Ability to interact effectively with company personnel, wholesalers, broker/dealers, agents, advertising agencies and public relations firms.
