Job Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Supervise a team of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Analysts as they complete pre-funding and post-funding audits to ensure underwriting and compliance guidelines and processes are followed as well as respond to any rebuttals on pre-funding audit findings. Ensure employee training, development and progression are ongoing and consistent with the objectives of the company. Support and enforce company policies and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
?Manage daily production and quality of work
?Manages the workload capacity and capability for a team of QA/QC specialists
?Recommend promotions, transfers and terminations
?Maintain professional conduct of team
?Delegate duties and responsibilities
?Increase employee?s skill and knowledge through on-going training and development
?Conduct comprehensive needs analysis to ensure that training fulfills the objectives of QA/QC
?Consistently adjust and respond to changing departmental needs
?Assume responsibility in the absence of the Manager
?Provide monthly feedback on performance levels to staff in a one on one setting
?Hold team meetings to provide open lines of communication
?Identify process and training gaps to assist in developing additional controls as well as training opportunities to acknowledge process updates and changes
?Provides support to QA/QC staff
?Liaison to our internal and external audit activities to facilitate and coordinate review
?Manages workload distribution and monitors progress of pre and post-closing volume are met
?Ensure that there is a standardized process that every employee consistently follows
?Identify, develop and maintain quality control policies and procedures
?Summarize prefunding audit findings and represent QA/QC on conference calls and meetings with Clients
?Coach and develop team for job progression and industry knowledge
?Manage QA/QC process to provide timely and consistent feedback to each client
?Leverage unique skills of each team member by managing to strengths
?Identifies and develops corrective action plans for low performers
?Identifies critical issues and escalates appropriately
?Delivers on promised results, overcomes obstacles and ensures closure on decisions is achieved
?Maintains staffing schedule and balances employee absences with business needs
?Randomly reviews completed loans to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
?Participates in the development of policy changes, program implementation and procedural improvements
?Develops internal and external partnerships; connects the right people, functions and resources to provide the best solutions
?Remains current on all mortgage related regulations and changes and keeps the QA/QC staff informed
?Informs Manager of department of accomplishments, problems and expectations
?Establish and maintain excellent client relations.
REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS
?Hands on PC skills preferably in a Windows environment
?Ability to supervise/manage employees
?Strong problem solving skills
?Detail oriented
?Conduct analytical review in accurate and timely manner
?Good oral and written communication
?Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
?Ability to make independent decisions
?Ability to work in a team environment
?Ability to learn quickly in order to work efficiently and meet deadlines
?Able to do mathematical calculations
?Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
?Must be able to write a summary based on facts gathered in the process
?Ability to type 35+ WPM.
EXPERIENCE
?A minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting and/or mortgage quality control loan review experience required
?Previous leadership experience including training, and mentoring colleagues is required
?Experience managing a team, including setting goals and coaching is preferred.
?Thorough knowledge of FHA/VA / Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac and other investor guidelines and requirements required.
