Position Duration: Direct Hire

Role Summary

Provide Level III support to the ES NOC including training on new technologies.

Audit the configuration and implementation on production network.

Conduct field trials on new technologies and solutions.

Provisioning script modification after changes in network

Duties and Responsibilities

Accept tier III escalation of all technical problems from the ES NOC, and drive to resolution.

Oversee maintenances and network changes.

Work with local field operations, sales teams and Network Architecture Engineers to develop, deploy and maintain network plans.

Write and or Review Documented Method of Procedures for each maintenance or implementation.

Document installations in engineering drawings and inventory databases.

Conduct network verification testing on new and existing installations in conjunction with network systems engineers.

Escalate hardware and software issues with equipment vendors; assist in identifying and troubleshooting bugs with network vendors, and find, test, document and implement workarounds.

Act as a liaison between NOC, Network Engineering, and Network architecture.

Responsible for overseeing the implementation of new network architecture/designs on the production network.

Responsible for training the NOC on new and existing technologies and troubleshooting procedures.

Provide overflow support for the NOC and Activations related tasks.

Perform and write Root Cause Analysis Documents as follow up to Major Network Outages.

Provisioning scripts modification after any change in network

Research and Implement Network Testing tools and procedures.

Tier III Engineering support is required 24/7 on a rotating schedule.

Fluctuations of network problems may require extended working hours.

Essential:

Minimum 8 yrs directly related experience with min 5 yrs directly related domain experience and 3 yrs NOC related experience. Of the 8 yrs 2 need to have had international exposure.

Has worked in a Layer-2 network environment.

Understands and can troubleshoot Layer-2 network protocols, equipment, and networks infrastructure

Can handle and manage customer escalations.

Delivers to targets and is performance focused

Ready to perform on call duties per business needs

Workload management - ability to work to multiple deadlines & co-ordinate multiple priorities/ tasks

Essential:

Experience or demonstrated ability to work with vast array of networking infrastructure including but

not limited to routers (Cisco, Juniper, Nortel etc.), switches (Extreme Networks, Foundry, etc.), firewalls

(Cisco, NetScreen, etc.), and various network appliances (Linux / Windows servers, etc.).

Expert WAN and LAN experience with strong foundation in delivery of layer 2 based services.

Able to gain quick understanding of the scalability for a given solution.

Able to produce effective trouble isolation strategies and win customers approval.

Strong foundation in NMS Technologies/Systems, SNMP, Linux/Unix, DNS, Abuse, etc.

Ability to create &/or modify shell scripts (Perl, Python, etc.)
