SummaryThis position provides senior level engineering and operational support of the Digital Globe network infrastructure, LAN & WAN along with all associate equipment at all DG locations. It is the primary engineering/support role for IT Network operations. This position will be a key role within the Network Operations team and take direction from the Network Operations Manager. ResponsibilitiesAdminister the corporate LAN and WAN- Oversee the operation of all LAN connections at all locations:o Data Center, Mission Control Center, general headquarters office, branch offices, etc.- Engineering, implementation, and operation of all related equipment:o Switcheso Routerso Firewallso IDS / IDPo Load balancingo Monitoring tools- Oversee the implementation/operation of all the WAN circuits:o IP and Frame Relay circuits to remote siteso Dedicated leased lines to various customerso VPN links to various customers and remote siteso Voice trunk lines (T1, T3) to the PBXs at the headquarters and branch office locationso VoIP connections between locationso 24x7 support for all of the aboveAdminister IT Security- In conjunction with the Network Security team:o Help maintain infrastructure security.o Oversee the operation of the network-based portion of the security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IDP, and VPN.o Oversee the on-going review and auditing of the entire security infrastructure across all infrastructure teams (e.g., Windows, UNIX, and Storage). Supplier and Internal Account Communicationso Perform specified supplier management functions such as support and maintenance interaction notification processing (e.g., maintenance windows, outages, security patches). Required SkillsThis person must possess a strong client focus and have the following experience:o At least 5 years experience administering LANs and WANs (data, voice) in a complex operational environment with the need for 4 nines uptime.o Solid knowledge of data / IP networking and protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, GRE, TCP, FTP, DNS)o Extensive experience with Juniper and/or Cisco products: routers, switches, firewallso Extensive experience with application load balancing technologies (F5, etc)o Experience with i) network security issues and solutions and ii) general IT infrastructure security issues and solutions.o Documentation experience (creation and maintenance). Experience with Word and Visio, creating and maintaining SOPs, Maintenance plans, network drawings, etc. Desirable Skillso Experience implementing Juniper EX switching platforms, SRX firewalls, and M series routers.o Experience with the following service providers and their data / voice services: Verizon, Qwest, Level3, AT&T.o Solid knowledge of voice networking and protocols.
