Summary:

Jeppesen is looking for an experienced and passionate Requirements Analyst within the Jeppesen Technical Services division of our Marine unit. This position will be a part of a skilled implementation team that develops new and novel software applications, auxiliary tools and components to facilitate modern, economically efficient, and environmentally focused maritime shipping. This position is based in Englewood, CO. and provides opportunities to work with breakthrough technology, exciting customers, and fantastic colleagues from around the world.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation on technically complex projects.
• Decomposition of high-level business requirements into detailed technical requirements.
• Critical evaluation of the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciliation of conflicts, decomposition of high-level information into details, abstraction up from low-level information to a more general understanding
• Management of requirements traceability and baselines.
• Peer reviews and inspections of software solutions.

 

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience developing technology requirements or specifications; good understanding of various requirements methodologies, documentation standards, and software development processes
• Demonstrated experience building functional and non-functional requirements utilizing business process flowcharting tools and use cases; ability to articulate complex technical terms or processes into business language and vice versa
• Ability to work independently and also be a team member
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written form; good work ethic
• BSc, MSc in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or equivalent

Preferred Assets:

• Hands-on experience in developing applications with MS NET stack of technologies (WPF, Silverlight, MEF, etc.)
• Knowledge of UML standard and UML-diagramming tools (Enterprise Architect, etc.)
• Knowledge in the area of marine navigation and cartography
• Experience of working within a Scrum team or in similar Agile project setups
