General Manager, Performance Materials at Denver

Job Description

The General Manager Performance Materials (PM) is responsible for planning, implementing and managing the overall strategies and business objectives for the PM business. This role will act as the P&L leader for PM and report to the VP/GM of Insulation Systems. The position will have PM sales and marketing resources reporting to him/her. Major responsibilities Global responsibility for P&L including sales and marketing, operations, operating plan, new product development, research, and business development. Lead, develop and implement a strategy and deliver the operating plan Establish manufacturing, supply chain, product development, marketing and sales strategies that yield increased value for customers, sales growth, improved market share and improved profitability. Build a high-performance team through recruitment, assessment and development of team members. Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have the following experience: Undergraduate degree (a technical degree is desirable); MBA desired. Fifteen or more years of progressive business experience for a world class or category leading, manufacturing organization. Two to three years direct P&L responsibility of at least $200 million. Significant role(s) in Marketing, Sales, Product Management and/or Operations. Experience in a complex business with multiple plants, markets, industries, materials and applications. Track record of developing and bringing successful new products and applications to market. Experience in an operations role, or working closely with operations to achieve business results. Experience successfully developing and managing strong customer/key account relationships. Experience successfully implementing business plans through collaboration with other functions (i.e. Operations, R&D, Finance, Human Resources, etc.) Demonstrated strong people and organizational leadership Demonstrated experience in selecting and developing talent within an organization. The successful candidate must have the following competencies: Strong strategic planner with proven ability to execute. Strong leadership, as demonstrated by establishing team direction and accountability, and developing high-performance teams and team members. New product/application identification, characterization and development. Knowledge and application of best practices in such areas as manufacturing, marketing and sales, and supply chain. Skills charting a course for broad and innovative organizational change, and effectively enlisting others participation in such change.
