ResponsibilitiesThis position manages all aspects of the Corporate Funding Desk (LD&FC) on the West Region Closing/Funding process. It will encompass the reviewing, coordination and approval of loan documentation and funds control. It is expected that the process under the Managers scope complies with all federal, state and BBVA Compass policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all loans and funding documentation are in compliance with federal, state, and BBVA Compass credit policy
- Manager will be accountable for compliance with all SLAs, SOX controls, Policies and Procedures as directed by upper management
- Manager will approve or coordinate the approval by Team Leads or designated staff for all fundings and closings
- Implementation and on-going training/support for all aspects of the Corporate Funding Desks (LD & FC) West Region Closing/Funding processes
Act as the liaison between the Corporate Funding Desk and Corporate Banking Lines of Business units.
- Interact with internal Compass lending teams, Loan Administration, Credit Administration, Legal, Audit, Compliance, and Loan Operations, other Financial Institutions, and outside vendors including appraisers, title companies, attorneys, and inspectors
- Manage the day-to-day of the Corporate Funding Desk including oversight of closing, funding and servicing for all C & I loans, including real estate secured loans serviced by this market which includes Rollovers, Option pricing, public finance loans, special projects, etc
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Administration, Accounting or Legal Studies or an equivalent of 4 years of professional experience.
- 5 years of management experience with ability to oversee numerous staffing needs on a daily basis.
- 3 plus years of commercial lending and/or support, loan documentation, audit/compliance, legal, loan review, accounting, credit/loan administration.
- Requires a superior knowledge of policies related to Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending practices.
- Ability to handle stress and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting demanding deadlines is a must.
- Highly skilled in reporting processes and tools is a must, while having the ability to utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to details is a must.
Desired:
- Paralegal experience is a plus. A combination of experience in two or more of these areas is highly desired legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan documentation, loan review, audit or compliance.
- Proven track record of in-depth review of all types of commercial loan documentation, along with extensive knowledge/experience in perfection of liens in accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, vehicles, negotiable securities, aircraft, ship mortgages, etc.
- Knowledge of Letters of Credit, financial covenants, government entities, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, agricultural, Healthcare or bond financing.
Knowledge of AFS is desired, along with experience dealing with syndications and participations, complex pricing arrangements, loan documentation, and reporting.
- Accounting, Auditing, Lending and/or Legal background/experience also is desired.
