Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to assume the role of Software Test Engineer in our Clovis, CA location.

Position Summary:

Our Test Engineering team within Pelco by Schneider Electric has an immediate need for a passionate Software Test Engineer who will interact with various product teams to develop and execute accurate and effective tests.

Essential Functions:

1. Performs risk analysis of product changes and recommends appropriate test strategies.
2. Collaborates with Project Management and Product Support to define customer equipment configurations in the development of accurate Customer Mode testing scenarios.
3. Takes ownership of test development and execution of tests validating software applications.
4. Analyzes, summarizes, and reports upon component reliability and performance results.
5. Tracks and reports product quality and coverage trends during development life-cycle.
6. Participates in the advancement of test engineering processes and procedures.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

1. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field of study and/or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of 2 years software testing or development experience.
3. Demonstrable and strong experience with unix scripting: shell, perl, python, ruby.
4. Experience with scalability, performance, and reliability test methodologies for client/server software.
5. Familiar with software test methodologies and a passion for testing as an engineering discipline.
6. Thorough understanding of web services including SOAP and REST.
7. Experience planning test cycles against internally developed and published APIs.
8. In-depth knowledge of commonly used Test Management tools i.e. Jira, Test Link, etc.
9. Understands Agile and sprint-based development lifecycles.
10. Strong planning and organizational skills with demonstrable success in a fast-paced software engineering organization.

Desirable:

1. Experience conducting test efforts according to an Agile methodology.
2. Experience developing soapUI/Selenium tests.
3. Ability to write and understand SQL queries to perform data verification and set up test data.
