Adecco Engineering and Technical has a current job opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer in Longmont, Co.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:Requires a two year Mechanical/Electrical Associate decree or higher equivalent. Two years related experience in Engineering with 2-4 years related experience in battery/ aerospace/ technical field and CAD drafting and design.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experience in working in clean room environments, under ESD protections, and stored energy safe practices. Understands and implements aerospace best practices, meets quality requirements, and space-flight work habits.Accreditation, Certificates, License:Two year mechanical or electronics associate degree course or equivalent. IPC or NASA Standards (8739.1, 8739.3, 8739.4) soldering, wiring, polymerics experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however other duties may be assigned.Professional
  • Has knowledge of NASA space standards in the areas of: mechanical and electrical assembly, soldering, resistive welding, insulative coating, epoxy application, crimping and wire harness assembly.
  • Has or gains knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures and equipment within aerospace manufacturing.
  • Maintains education, training, and awareness to current and future technologies. Learns about new and innovative techniques and materials that will keep the company on the leading edge of our business.
  • Design
  • Responsible for design, development, implementation, and improvements to manufacturing tooling for battery builds and associated systems.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures and equipment within aerospace manufacturing.
  • Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
  • Provide CAD drafting and design support for manufacturing with a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and work effectively with mechanical drawings and documentation including bills of materials, assembly drawings, work instructions, and equipment travelers.
  • Demonstrates and assists in establishing standards for flight hardware handling.
  • May assist in creation and verification of flight tooling.
  • Support
  • Supports build to print or new design programs.
  • Recommends alterations and makes revision changes to manufacturing documentation and processes to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Support failure investigations and report and record results and provide resolution options to the team.
  • Helps organize Manufacturing resources to meet production demands.
  • Minor participant at assembly readiness reviews and MRBs.
  • Generates assembly work instructions for moderately complex assembly tasks.
  • Provides technical support to battery programs, may lead R&D programs and/or build to print efforts.
  • Suggests and implements revisions to manufacturing travelers and in-house process work instructions. Generates operating procedures required to prepare equipment and hardware for product processing.
  • Is a recognized and go-to expert for production and process questions technicians have when called upon.
  • Creates build book requests, may create, engineer solutions, and administer discrepancy notices.
  • Generates assembly work instructions for simple assembly tasks.
  • Initiate NCRs, participates in findings and resolutions, and works to close out NCRs.
  • Verifies, updates, maintains, and production fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
  • Produces model hardware which can be used by fellow technicians as a production example.
  • May be a work instruction trainer for newly implemented in-house process work instructions.
  • Assists in ensuring all manufacturing personnel training is current with examples and presenting training classes.
  • Can discuss and assist in scheduling process work with Manager or Lead Technician.
  • Ability to provide entry level input to update in-house process work instructions and process traveler.
  • Can maintaining documents in a timely manner to capture the status of work in progress.
  • Understands and utilizes electronic management systems for data storage and program documentation retrieval.
  • Has elementary knowledge about environmental test systems (i.e.TVAC, Temperature, Vibration) and the tests used in the Test department.
  • Demonstrates proper use and care of tools and equipment, ensures equipment is maintained properly and ready for use, and has ability to flag any tool for disposition that is not.
  • General
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision, familiarity with NASA standards and manufacturing practices.
  • Communicates well with fellow peers, management, project engineering, both verbally and in written form.
  • Works well with fellow team members, production technicians, quality, project engineers, under minimal supervision.
  • Guides others by example and conduct.
  • Willing to perform hands-on build to assist technical staff when needed.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. for one to several weeks at a time.
  • Understands personal limitations and when to stop and ask for assistance.
  • Ability to escalate issues that are outside their authority, competence or scope.
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to Lead Technician or Manager.
