Job Description

Job Title: Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Job Duration: 4-5 months contract

Job Location: Denver, CO 80237

 

Job Responsibilities:

*Creates and maintains databases for test, development and production environments.

*Analyzes, tests, and implements physical database design.

*Documents environment and maintains current patches.

*Ensures data recovery, maintenance, data integrity, and space requirements for physical database are met through formulation and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.

*Conducts performance assessment and tuning as related to the database and disk subsystem.

*Provides technical knowledge working with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects.

*Writing, testing, documenting, deploying and supporting custom PL/SQL code. This is an absolute MUST and the candidate resume must demonstrate this.

*Balancing the PL/SQL needs of multiple clients with multiple environments and multiple databases.

*Backup and recovery of Oracle databases. • Working and assisting others on incident resolution.

*Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (OCP) strongly desired

*Supporting a number of production, test and development databases.

*Supporting users, application administrators and developers for PL/SQ solutions.

*Project support including go-live weekends

Job Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree.

*Must have recent PL/SQL experience as well as being well versed in TKProf

*Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (OCP) strongly desired.

*8-10 years of PL/SQL development experience. Experience with Oracle 9i, 10g, and 11g.

*Oracle DBA experience, with at least 5 years as a development DBA.

*Exceptional troubleshooting skills.

*Very strong Database performance and SQL tuning skills

 

Other skills not required but exposure and working knowledge desired:

*Upgrading Oracle to new versions is a plus.

*Installing, configuring, patching and administering of Oracle databases.

*Working knowledge of tools for monitoring system performance, stability and capacity.

*Backup and recovery skills.

*Experience using Dataguard and log miner.

*Experience with ASM.
