Mining Fire Protection Technician- Denver at Denver

SimplexGrinnell is a recognized leader in the sales and service of state of the art monitor and control systems for fire alarm, security, sound, nurse call, portable fire extinguishers, suppression and sprinkler systems. Our continued growth has produced a need for a Mining Fire Protection Technician in our Denver, CO location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install and Inspect Mining Fire Suppression Systems
Inspect & Maintain Hand portable Extinguishers, Emergency Lights, Fire Hoses and Automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems
Complete paperwork in a timely and neat fashion.
Some out of state travel with occasional overnight stays.
Must be willing to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions.
Perform other duties as directed by management team.

REQUIREMENTS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong Mechanical background, including use of Power tools
1 year of welding experience is required.
Some electrical knowledge is required.
Positive attitude and a desire to achieve results
Strong organizational skills with the ability to learn quickly
Valid drivers license with a positive Motor Vehicle Report
Must be able to pass pre-employment Drug screen and background check.
Must be able to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 60 pounds.
Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders; scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
Must be willing to work in underground mines.
Must be a self starter and able to work without constant supervision
Must have at least 1 year exp. With Fire systems and/or heavy construction/Mining equipment.
Good written and oral communication skills.
