QA Engineer/Microcode Tester at Boulder

Job Description

Randstad Technologies is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our valued client in Boulder, CO. This is a full-time/direct hire opportunity.

The Microcode QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring high quality solutions for Linux based software running on multiple printer hardware platforms for continuous forms and cut sheet printers. The QA engineer must analyze requirements and utilize test methodologies to develop test plans and perform comprehensive functional and system evaluations. Microcode test methods are continuously improved through the development and modification of automated integration test tools in a heterogeneous computing environment.

The candidate should have a background in Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Test Engineering or Computer Science. A programming background, preferably Python, JavaScript, shell scripting, Java or C++/C is preferred.

Required Skills:

Quality Assurance experience, including Test methodologies

Knowledge of server class hardware systems and configuration

Operating Systems Knowledge (Linux, MS Windows)

Web based development

Ability to work effectively with cross functional development and support teams

Technical Communication Skills (Written, Verbal, Technical Report Creation)

Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time efficiently.

General office and project software (MS Office, project issue tracking, Adobe Photoshop)

Preferred Skills:

Software programming (Python, shell scripting, Java C++/C)

I/O System Architecture knowledge

GUI development tools (Adobe Flex) experience

Server System Architecture knowledge

Experience with printer controllers and printer software

Software Architecture Experience

Experience with print data streams (IPDS, PS, PCL, etc)

Digital image data formats (TIF, JPEG, GIF etc.)

Color Science Experience

Image processing

Education/Certifications:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study
