Job Description
The Fleet Maintenance Technicians responsibilities include, but are not limited to servicing and repairing delivery equipment and vehicles.This position will assist the Fleet Manager with delivering all financial commitments, build organization capabilities by utilizing the Guiding Principles, instill a safe culture, integrate Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and principles, and assist in developing solutions to meet customer expectationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Fleet Manager on the day to day operations of fleet shop.
- Works with Distribution team to ensure fleet assets are available, safe and reliable in order to meet customer service requirements.
- Assists with execution of Dean Foods warranty and policy programs for recovery of expenses.
- Repairs and services Dean Foods fleet vehicles as necessary.
- Assists in parts room inventory management, keeping the inventory right sized.
- May performsnecessary computer functions in service program.
- Assist other shop technicians in achieving the fleet maintenance goals and key metrics.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all repairs.
- Understands Preventative Maintenance schedule with a compliance focus
- Optimizes and cares for fleet assets and ensures proper maintenance practices compliance.
- Owns Safety Culture, ensuring a safe work environment and that employees use safe work methods.
- Integrates Dean Foods Standard Operating Procedures into daily activities.
- Assists Fleet Manager with follow-up on outside repairs.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, EPA, ANSI), and federal, state and local laws.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; 4+ years of increasing experience and responsibility in fleet maintenance of over the road and refrigeration equipment
- Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License is required
- Must be computer literate, and have experience with engine, ABS, transmission, etc. diagnostic equipment and software.
- ASE Certification preferred
- Must have adequate hand tools and roll cabinet
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, crawl required for virtually the entire shift. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required.Manipulation of tools, equipment and truck component is required.
- Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment with moderate to high noise volume.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
- Efficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to pass fit-for-dutyexam, drug and background checks (including criminal).
