NOC Technician - Denver, CO
Contract to hire
We have a great contract to hire opportunity with our client in the Denver Tech Center. They are looking for a strong NOC Tech to join their growing team. This is a great company to work for with unmatched benefits. This position is 3rd shift working 4 days a week 12am - 10am.
Contractor will work within their Network Operations Center to ensure the enterprise and regional data and voice networks and related equipment are maintained, supported, optimized, and reliable. The Professional Services resources will be responsible for the following essential duties:
X Responsible for ensuring that the communications infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for the region, including working with service providers and Telco Carriers to ensure that the network is stable and highly available.
X Ensures that the logical and physical network is performing as required and works with internal and external service providers to repair and restore service as needed.
X Respond to service tickets and manage ticket queues
X Provide tier 2 level support including IMACs, maintenance, issue resolution, capacity planning, troubleshooting issues and managing vendors/partners, updating tickets and support documentation.
X Provide on call, global support as scheduled
X Maintain and review system logs and network performance.
X Provides coordination and support to service providers in relation to configuration management for network hardware.
X Ensures that service providers are carrying out all aspects of contractual obligation for proactive and preventative maintenance of the network.
X Collaborates with the global infrastructure team in definition of network standards and is responsible for global compliance.
X Responsible for ensuring that regional network documentation is accurate and maintained on a timely basis.
X Ensure that all changes to communication and infrastructure systems, whether directly performed, or performed by a Outsource Service Provider, adhere to standards and procedures, follow SOX-compliant processes, and are fully documented.
Consultant will posses the following training and experience:
X 5-6 years experience in technical support role
X Experience with Cisco Network Technologies, PBX/VOIP Support, IT Security Fundamentals, MPLS Networks, Wireless Networking, Microsoft AD and server technologies
X Strong mix of business, functional, and technical skills
X Proven ability to discuss server, storage and backup concepts and strategies in simple, clear terms to help drive and influence decision making of business and application owners
X Broad knowledge of all technology considerations (performance, scalability, maintainability, deployment, operations, technology infrastructure)
X Self-driven employee, with a pro-active and strategic vision of IT
X Ability to effectively plan and control projects
X Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with vendors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and customers at all levels
X Has an overall understanding of the objectives and functions of the company, business units and departments serviced by IT
X Self-driven leader, with a pro-active and strategic vision of IT service delivery
X Posses strong IT knowledge and understanding with deep skills in IT operations and customer relationship management
X Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Visio.
