Responsible for leading and managing the assigned department in design, engineering, architecture and maintenance activities that support various internal and external customers; provide network vision and leadership for developing and implementing technology based solutions; manage the engineering of the infrastructure environments to meet business needs; design technical solutions that enable the company to maintain high levels of client and customer satisfaction; provide leadership and direction on all assigned projects; establish and maintain a professional relationship with various vendors and suppliers.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
* Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required with major course work in computer science, information technology, information systems, electrical engineering, business, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for education requirements

Experience
* Minimum four years increasingly responsible experience in networking or telecommunications required
* Minimum two years supervisory experience required
* Minimum one year technical project management on small to medium projects preferred

Technical
* In depth knowledge of Networking, methodologies, and architectures preferred, to include; Voice over IP (VoIP) network design experience; experience in ISP/Carrier, WAN/LAN, and Long Haul TDM operations; router operation experience and design (e.g., Cisco, etc.); MPLS design and application; networking models (e.g., ISO/OSI , etc.); knowledge and use of standards bodies and procedural structures (e.g., IEEE, IETF (RFCs), ARIN, ITU, ISO, etc.)
* Project life cycle experience and system integration in the technology industry preferred
* Solid technical and operational industry experience with ability to speak to IT processes, procedures, and requirements as associated with suppliers, business leaders and managers preferred
* Possess supplementary leadership, communication, project management and relationship management experience preferred
* Solid technical knowledge of IT industry, service delivery, supplier community, and associated contracts preferred

Other
* Ability to travel as required
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
