Graduate from an Occupational Therapy (O.T.) curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association, or is eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association under its requirements.

A minimum of one year experience as an O.T. in a long-term care facility.

Ability to understand medical terminology and how it applies to O.T. in order to communicate effectively with residents, staff and physicians, and to prepare meaningful reports.

Coordination and dexterity necessary to manipulate tools and materials while instructing residents.

Adequate strength and endurance to meet physical demands involved in using equipment, tools and materials while instructing residents.

Must be licensed or registered in state as an Occupational Therapist.

Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
