Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform Satellite Command and Control engineering for development and sustainment programs in the Cybersecurity and Special Missions product line.
Position can be hired for a Senior Systems Engineer I or a Senior Systems Engineer II.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing and maintaining Requirements, Use Cases and Algorithm Description Documents Performing functional decomposition of requirements to meet system and domain level needs Participating in system engineering artifact reviews Conducting performance analyses, risk analyses, and trade studies Defining external and internal interfaces. Managing and maintaining his/her assigned documents in accordance with established systems engineering and configuration management procedures Providing technical direction and clarification of requirements to a software development team Supporting the assessment of change package traffic Supporting the SEIT team in preparation and conduct of program reviews Completing assigned tasks to meet program schedule milestonesRequired Skills:
Minimum of4 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer I) or 6 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer II) Engineering experience Experience in the Satellite Command and Control domain Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, and/or verification and validation Demonstrated ability to work under only general direction. Able to independently determine and develop approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives Experience working in a multi-discipline environment Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Some travel required Current SSBIDesired Skills:
Experience in mission management, flight dynamics, or command & control domains Systems engineering experience as on a large government software development contract. Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, and/or verification and validation. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and stakeholders in a professional and diplomatic mannerExperience with Matlab and Satellite Toolkit (STK) Experience with estimation theory and practice Experience in interface definition and documentation Experience in CONOPS / OPSCON development Experience working with requirements in DOORs Experience with software status and control development, installation, and integration activities Experience in Operations and Maintenance support Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent Required Education (including Major):
B.S./B.A.in Aerospace Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math with 4 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer I) or 6 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer II) relevant work experience.In lieu of a degree, 12 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer I) or 14 years (as a Senior Systems Engineer II) of relevant work experience can be used.
